Madeleine was introduced to the physical practice of yoga at a young age through theatre and dance. Quickly, the holistic and spiritual aspects of yoga showed themselves to Madeleine and she knew she wanted to teach for overall physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.
At age 22, Madeleine traveled to the historical source of yoga, India. She earned her 200 hour certification from Trimurti Yoga in Dharamsala, at the foothills of the Himalayas. Her month in the mountains was transformative and deepened her personal practice, which she incorporates in each class.
Since moving to New York City, Madeleine has taught group sessions in studios, corporate settings, and intimate workshops, as well as private one-on-one work. As a teacher, Madeleine focuses on mindful awareness and breath. Her classes are accessible, full of love, and always organically tailored to the students in the room. Her main yogic philosophy is Ahimsa (nonviolence, especially to yourself) – A promise to gently challenge, focusing on ease and play with the physical body , while helping students to listen to and care for themselves.
Her teaching style is intuitive, empathetic, and down to earth – with spiritual wisdom and lighthearted jokes sprinkled throughout. She offers deep self-love, calming, and centering for anyone who practices with her.
